The Camp
Session I – June 13 – 17, 2010
Session II – June 20 – 24, 2010
Georgia Gymnastics Camp is a place of tradition and excellence! We want to provide your child with the best gymnastics instruction in the country along with the excitement of gaining friendships and being introduced to new skills. Instruction is available for all levels of competitive or noncompetitive gymnastics. Your child will leave Georgia gymnastics camp with a balanced experience of gymnastics and fun!
The Camper
• Resident Camper: Ages 8-18
Resident Campers will stay overnight
• Day Camper: Ages 6-18
Whether you are a Day Camper or a Resident Camper, Gym Dog Camp will provide equal gymnastics instruction and recreational activity for all ages and skill level. Day Campers are to be dropped off at the before the first rotation every morning and can be picked up after the last rotation in the afternoon. Lunch is provided. Day Campers may come back after dinner to participate in evening camp activities.
The Facility
The Gym Dog Camp will be held in the new Suzanne Yoculan Gymnastics Center. The workout facility is equipped with up-to-date competitive equipment, including several resi-pit systems for all events. There will also be a rod floor, in ground tumble track, trampoline, trench bar, and more. There is a fully functional athletic training room, which will be staffed by the UGA certified athletic trainer for the Gym Dogs.
The Staff
Georgia Gymnastics Camp Director, National Champion and All-American Gymdog, Julie Ballard-Clark, currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Ten Time National Champion Georgia Gymdogs. Ballard-Clark, with Head Coach Jay Clark and Assistant Coach Doug McAvinn make Georgia Gymnastics Camp instruction top in the Nation. Georgia Gymnastics Camp is also staffed with top notch Club Coaches and Collegiate Coaches from across the country, along with former and current Gymdogs!
General Daily Schedule
Each day will have 6 rotations (Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, Dance, and Conditioning). Meals will be provided and recreational activities will be scheduled during breaks and in the evenings. Some of these activities include open gym, skit night, and games. The girls will walk daily, with their assigned counselor, to and from the practice gym, dorm, and dining halls. Sundays and Thursdays schedule have shorter rotations. Each schedule is subject to change but a final schedule will be sent to the email provided.
Rooming and Security
Roommates for Gymdog Camp are decided by you, the camper. The only way to GUARENTEE a roommate is by putting her full name the registration form AND by her putting your child’s full name on her form. Campers who do not have an exact match under the will be given a roommate based the gym they attend, age, and level. Rooming will be finalized just prior to camp registration, therefore, we will not have any roommate information in advance. Again, to guarantee a roommate, make sure she is your daughter’s 1st Choice and your daughter is her 1st Choice. We also do our best to keep gyms on the same hall in the dorm. However, remember that Gymdog Camp is an amazing experience and part of this is your child making lasting friendships. There is no better way to do this than by having a random roommate! We as a staff will do everything we can to make sure your daughter feels as comfortable as she can. Please help us by encouraging your child to be open to meeting new people and experiencing new things. The camper will have an assigned counselor for the week as well as a dorm mom. The dorms provide security and the exterior doors remain locked.
Payment Information
When you Register Online there is no additional fee AND you actually secure your spot in the selected camp instantly with your CC transaction. When you print your secured receipt we include all the required forms for camp. BRING THESE FROM TO REGISTRATION ON THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR SESSION! You also will receive an immediate email confirmation containing all pertinent information should they be misplaced. (If you selected the split payment option, we ask that you return to this site by May 1st and fulfill your obligation simply by entering your confirmation code into the pay balance due category and clicking GO.) This Site does not store credit card numbers (only the last four digits) and NO information is ever used for 3rd party marketing purposes for any reason PERIOD!
Refund Policy
All payments must be received IN FULL by May 1, 2010. A late fee will be assessed after that day. Withdrawal from Gymdog camp for any reason before May 1st will result in a loss of a $100 for processing and administration fees. Withdrawal from camp after May 1st, will result in a loss of the initial minimum payment of $325 for resident campers or $275 for day campers. If the athlete withdraws from camp after May 1st with a medical/doctors note, you will forfeit $100 for processing and administration fees. You may transfer your child’s spot to another athlete at anytime, with the understanding that they must pay you the difference of what you have already paid. Gymdog Camp is not responsible for refunding money and waiting to receive money from another athlete for the purpose replacing your child.
Cell Phones
If your child brings a cell phone to camp, she will not be allowed to talk on it while walking to and from the facilities or in between rotations. Gymdog Camp is not responsible for lost or stolen cell phones.
Medical
Accident/medical coverage for the camp will be provided on a excess or secondary basis. This means that all claims for medical expenses as a result of injuries incurred during camp MUST be sent to the injured child’s parent for filing with their own insurance carrier. The camp policy will pay for those expenses not paid for under the parent’s coverage or if the parent does not have coverage, subject to the camp policy coverage limits, terms, conditions and exclusions. A doctor is on call and hospital and student facilities are readily accessible. A physician’s statement form will be sent to you along with confirmation of your registration. The completed form must be presented upon arrival at camp. Every effort is made to protect the health and safety of our campers. The camp assumes no responsibility for accidents or illness. The University of Georgia and the University of Georgia Athletic Association, Inc. are not responsible for any injuries sustained by student participant or camp employee.
**Please Note: NCAA rules prohibit payment of camp expenses (transportation, tuition, spending money, discounts, gifts, etc.) by representatives of The University of Georgia’s athletic interests. NCAA rules also prohibit free or reduced camp admission for prospects (ninth grade and above). If you have questions, notify camp directors through our email address, prior to attending camp.
