The Camp

Session I – June 13 – 17, 2010

Session II – June 20 – 24, 2010

Georgia Gymnastics Camp is a place of tradition and excellence!  We want to provide your child with the best gymnastics instruction in the country along with the excitement of gaining friendships and being introduced to new skills.  Instruction is available for all levels of competitive or noncompetitive gymnastics.  Your child will leave Georgia gymnastics camp with a balanced experience of gymnastics and fun!

The Camper

• Resident Camper: Ages 8-18

Resident Campers will stay overnight
• Day Camper: Ages 6-18

Whether you are a Day Camper or a Resident Camper, Gym Dog Camp will provide equal gymnastics instruction and recreational activity for all ages and skill level.  Day Campers are to be dropped off at the before the first rotation every morning and can be picked up after the last rotation in the afternoon.  Lunch is provided.  Day Campers may come back after dinner to participate in evening camp activities.

The Facility

The Gym Dog Camp will be held in the new Suzanne Yoculan Gymnastics Center.  The workout facility is equipped with up-to-date competitive equipment, including several resi-pit systems for all events. There will also be a rod floor, in ground tumble track, trampoline, trench bar, and more. There is a fully functional athletic training room, which will be staffed by the UGA certified athletic trainer for the Gym Dogs.

The Staff

Georgia Gymnastics Camp Director, National Champion and All-American Gymdog, Julie Ballard-Clark, currently serves as an Assistant Coach for the Ten Time National Champion Georgia Gymdogs.  Ballard-Clark, with Head Coach Jay Clark and Assistant Coach Doug McAvinn make Georgia Gymnastics Camp instruction top in the Nation.  Georgia Gymnastics Camp is also staffed with top notch Club Coaches and Collegiate Coaches from across the country, along with former and current Gymdogs!

General Daily Schedule
Each day will have 6 rotations (Vault, Bars, Beam, Floor, Dance, and Conditioning).  Meals will be provided and recreational activities will be scheduled during breaks and in the evenings.  Some of these activities include open gym, skit night, and games.  The girls will walk daily, with their assigned counselor, to and from the practice gym, dorm, and dining halls.  Sundays and Thursdays schedule have shorter rotations.  Each schedule is subject to change but a final schedule will be sent to the email provided.

Rooming and Security

Roommates for Gymdog Camp are decided by you, the camper.  The only way to GUARENTEE a roommate is by putting her full name the registration form AND by her putting your child’s full name on her form.  Campers who do not have an exact match under the will be given a roommate based the gym they attend, age, and level.  Rooming will be finalized just prior to camp registration, therefore, we will not have any roommate information in advance.  Again, to guarantee a roommate, make sure she is your daughter’s 1st Choice and your daughter is her 1st Choice.  We also do our best to keep gyms on the same hall in the dorm.  However, remember that Gymdog Camp is an amazing experience and part of this is your child making lasting friendships.  There is no better way to do this than by having a random roommate!  We as a staff will do everything we can to make sure your daughter feels as comfortable as she can.  Please help us by encouraging your child to be open to meeting new people and experiencing new things.  The camper will have an assigned counselor for the week as well as a dorm mom.  The dorms provide security and the exterior doors remain locked.
